Can't register on the forums with hotmail email address?

Hello,

I tried to register on the forums with a hotmail email address, and I was wondering why I never received the activation email.

After some googling, I found the following topic: viewtopic.php?t=18494

So, apparently, you can't register with a Microsoft, Google, or Yahoo email address?

OK, that's annoying, but why not?

Now, the real problem is that, unless I missed something, nowhere in the registration process does it say that you can't use some email providers, which results in a waste of time.

Nice first post, complete with spam signature etc. That's exactly the reason why the prime offenders are blocked from registering. That will stop at least the stupid bots.

I already did. As a non-native English speaker you might not have completely understood the text you need to read upon registering.

In short "No linking to third-party websites that are of commercial nature, contain advertisements, or trackers."

means

Linking to sites making money or business sites is a No.
Linking to sites displaying any advertisements or using AdSense, for example, is a No, too.
Last but not least, sites containing trackers (aka. web bugs) are forbidden. Trackers are pieces of code analyzing user behavior and building surf profiles. No matter if 1x1px tracker images or complex Analytics tools, you cannot link to them.

I wasn't able to register at all. Each email showed error.
