What about the default language?

#1 Post by FaalHaas » 2007-11-13 11:34

This is not FileZilla specific, but about ALL software setups, and i just don't get it.

I always use English OS-es (XP, Vista, Ubuntu). I live in the Netherlands so i have the regional settings set to Dutch (because of date time formats e.g.)

When i install an application, like FileZilla, it always installs with a Dutch UI, i always have to change the language to English. Yesterday it happened with Gimp, today with FileZilla Client. (End it's hell changing the language in Gimp)

What's up with that. My OS is English, all software should be in english. Why does the setup look at the regional settings, not the OS language?

I am the only one that finds this odd?

The default language is always the one set by the user in his system-wide account settings. No poll will change that.
