How do I fix a broken image problem?

#1 Post by Lissa272 » 2008-11-13 21:44

I have uploaded an ebook to my server using filezilla. I have the images, index, and thank you page all in the same directory. When I test my links for the index page and the thank you page, my images are missing. I have been trying all week to fix this but it has been to no avail. Any help will be appreciated.

Really missing or just broken? Try to manually enter the URL of one image manually in the browser.

Missing (get a 404): Images are not in the correct directory. The web root is where index.html is.

Broken: Re-transfer them using BINARY transfer type.

Works: If the image displays, it is just linked incorrectly in the HTML.

in the past I had the same problem on a situation.
I had:
-all the images uploaded
-all the HTML links and code were okay
-I tested the image links manually, etc

BUT

the only difference was, that instead of .gif I used .GIF
Take care :)
