Do people really help here, or do we just get a basic Read Network guide response?

Switch Client to Passive Mode, try again. Alternatively, read the Active Mode chapter of the guide botg linked above.

I had the same trouble after I setup my FileZilla FTP server. I recently found out what the problem was. I was trying to access my installs folder from a clients machine to apply a patch. I kept getting this error, changed the client to work on "Active Mode", clicked "connect", then the Windows Firewall popped up asking to allow the FileZilla Client through the firewall. After allowing firewall access, I've not had any trouble what-so-ever! I hope if you haven't already resolved the issue that this will help.

Have a great day,

Please do not perform thread necromancy.

Having the same problem = using the same version of FileZilla as the topic creator = using a nowadays heavily outdated version of FileZilla = not supported anymore.

Closing topic as such.
