v1.7.2 Error in Certs?

Oops. Upgraded to 1.7.2 (very smooth. LOVE the new feature). Is this new?

I have not created or added any certificates. Straight install of FileZilla.

"Some are invalid" would be more helpful if the specific certificates were listed. Log is set to Debug Level (5).

Expiration probably unrelated to the update. Expiration during runtime probably not reported optimally, so you only notice it on a restart. There are only two certs, one for FTP over TLS, and one for the Aministration connection. Check the settings dialog on the respective pages.

Thanks for the tip. Opening the Admin interface, Configuration brings this up:

And then this:

I see the expiration data was 1/5/2023. This cert came with FileZilla Server. Is the cert included in the package good for only a short time, upon which the customer is responsible to generate and incorporate a new cert?

(I guess it is obvious, old people are easily confused. Sorry.)

FileZilla Server creates and signs its own certificate when it's run for the first time, and sticks with it until the admin changes it. The expiration date of such a certificate is set to one year after its creation. When it expires, you need to manually change it to some other certificate or create a new one.

If your server is open to the internet and has (or can have) a domain name, I suggest you use Let's Encrypt® to manage the certificate for you. It will also autorenew in due time.

Thanks for the explanation. This server is not public, so no Client software will be affected and complain.
I must have missed the warning during the initial installation.

All Good now.
