Cannot connect to Admin-Interface from external (remote)

#1 Post by crus » 2009-06-26 08:12

Hello Community,

today i have installed an Filezilla FTP-Server 0.9.32(beta) on one of my clients.
Everything seems to be working and the configuration via the admin interface from the local client is also no problem...

But now i want configure the admin interface that i also can remote control my FTP-Server via the admin-interface from another pc.

My configuration:
Edit --> Settings --> Admin Interface settings:
Bind the admin interface to the following ip-adresses: (blank)
IP Adresses which are allowed to connect to the admin interface: 'IP-Adress/IP-Range from my remote computer'

With that configuration the remote control via the admin interface will not work.
If i put in a ' * ' in 'Bind the admin interface to the following ip-addresses' it will work, but i think that this is a security risk or not?
If i try to specify an specific ip-address there then i get the following error: Failed to bind the admin interface to the following IPs: 123.123.123.123 (only an example ip-address ;-D)

Maybe somebody has an idea?
