Hello Everyone,
I am new to this and need help, please. I have an existing ftp site, call it ftp.existing.com on a windows 2003 server. I have a new domain name, call it ftp.example.com. The server is on a static IP. The DNS on example.com is correct because when I ping it it returns the correct IP. However when I try to FTP to example.com it will not connect. FTPing to the existing domain does work, however. I did not set up the existing domain so I don't know how it was done. I need to have both domains work on that server for internet traffic to connect and I am sure I am missing something. Do I have to do something in iis? Can someone help, please?
Thanks!

Yes, same IP.
Re: Deploying a new FTP site on an existing FTP server
are you trying
ftp.example.com or example.com
if you try example.com, it will most likely work
the ftp in from of the domain may not be setup with your DNS yet
This can be done under CNames and i believe another way......

FTP does not have a hostname concept. If two hostnames resolve to the same IP and there's an FTP server running at that IP, it can always be accessed from both hostnames.
