HI I have a mac, can I not use Filezilla for server? I see you have for Filezilla Client on Mac which I downloaded but I guess I need the server portion too. Please advice. Thank you.

The server unfortunately is Windows-only.

This might be a silly question as I am new to this. But if it is windows only what is the Filezilla Client for which is mac compatible? Thank you.

The server is for hosting files, the client is for transferring files. About 90% (guessed figure) need the client, so it gets more attention ATM. Client has been recoded already to be multi-platform (the predecessor FileZilla 2 was Windows-only). The server has not been rewritten, yet.

tl;dr: In almost all cases you need the client.

Thank you for the explanation. I am starting to do a blog and all the training tutorials make reference of FTP and refer this site. No one mentions anything about "client ".
