Slow internal download speeds from server...

I cut the internal transfer buffer size by 1/2 and it gave me another 2mb on my download speed. Should it really be as high 32768 at default? Am I supposed to further cut it down from 16384?

It's trial and error. There's no value good for everyone.

Usually, the higher the faster.

Ok thanks guys. I continue to get very poor speeds. If I just drag and drop into my server, I consistently get 90 MB/s. If I use Filezilla, I can barely get passed 10 MB/s this morning. The speeds keep changing. I'm not sure what it is but speeds are fluctuating dramatically.

I tried changing my client from FlashFXP to FileZilla to see if that would help but that didn't really do much.

What could be causing the massive slow down in transfer speeds?

A packet inspecting firewall, for example. Do the slow speeds persist if you use SSL?

I don't use ssl for my internal account. I would have thought it would slow things down if anything?

Only firewall I have enabled is the Windows Firewall. Unless it's my router but I don't see how that can be the case if transferring by using windows explorer is not effected

You should enable it at least for a test. SSL sure prevents any firewall/router from inspecting packets.
