can't open data connection 1% of the time

#1 Post by wwu2 » 2006-06-09 18:11

Hi

I am using FZS 0.9.12 beta with active mode on windows server 2003. I receive a few thousands files per day. But once in a while (approx 1% of the time) I get a "can't open data connection on the log file and the upload fails. I have set the server to run with 16 threads and set no timeouts.

The PORT command is issued by the clients. It's possible that the client's firewall or router blocks that port.

I know that it is not ports that are blocked since it does work most of the time.

To be certain I did check the logs for a port number that resulted in a "can't open data connection" and I did received some files from that port.

So it is really a "sometime doesn't work" type of problem

Could it be that FZS is too busy or is missing resources???

Thanks for your help

Martin

There could be a lot of reasons. It might just be some sort of congestion problem.
