Here is the error message that I received:
Status: Connecting to 192.168.x.xx ...
Status: Connected with 192.168.x.xx. Waiting for welcome message...
Error: Timeout detected!
Error: Unable to connect!
Status: Waiting to retry... (3 retries left)
Sorry, I would like to keep my ip address private. anyway, these errors appear on my client computer. I did not touch any of the settings on both computers, other than setting the account settings. Seems like filezilla hangs at the waiting for welcome message . why is this so? by the way, I am connecting through a 2wire modem which needs the proxy: fol.singnet.com.sg. Why am I unable to connect to my server? is because of my proxy? My modem has a built in hardware firewall, and I have allowed ftp hosting. The appication did not tell me what are the ports that are allowed for ftp hosting... is it possible to help me out?

192.168.x.xxx is a LAN IP. For access through the internet, you would have to use the actual (WAN) IP, assigned by your ISP.skylive wrote:Here is the error message that I received:

About the proxy thing, I don't know...
