Cannot authorize on server

#1 Post by dragon2309 » 2006-07-26 20:11

Hi, im a bit new at this so bear with me for a while. I might be all wrong about it and actually be doing something really dumb, but here goes...

I have my own server (on my own PC) running on WAMP5. Naturally this is on port 80. So then i thought it would be cool to be able to FTP into my own PC. So i googled a bit and found FileZilla, it loks quite good but i have a problem.

It starts up, and propts to connect to a server, i take it it means the server that its controlling FTP access for, yes? This is where i go wrong, if i enter in my network IP (192.168.1.4) on port 80, it connects and then sits there "waiting for authorization", well, how do i authorize it...?? if i try anything else, say port 21, which i would have thought might be the default for FTP, it doesnt connect, if i type in localhost as the server addres, that does not work.

There is either a problem with the prgram or a a problem with my understanding of it... Can anyone please help me out...??

Cheers, dragon2309 :D

You'll have to connect to the port you specified during installation, which is 14147 by default.

Aaah right, thanks man, i forgot all about that, perhaps i should try reading whats on those install screens instead of clicking NEXT 15 times continuously, thanks again.
