Error, could not connect to server

Hello,

I'm running FileZilla Server 0.9.18 Beta on a Windows 2003 SP1 server. The Window Firewall is off. It is a domain member server.

The console will not connect when I run the FZ service with a domain account. The following message is displayed in the FZ console log window:

"Connecting to server...
Error, could not connect to server
Trying to reconnect in 5 seconds"

In this situation the FTP service is unresponsive to logons (ie, "ftp localhost").

If I switch the service over to the local system account (LSA), and restart it, the console and ftp clients can connect as expected. I do, however, have to "end task" on the FZ service to get it to shut down so that it can be restarted under the LSA.

Can someone help me understand what is going on?

I'd start looking into your security policies.

That is since I'm guessing the domain user you used to start the service was at least a local administrator if not a domain administrator...
