Hello,
I'm new to FileZilla. I've installed the FileZilla Server on my PC: here are the specifics:
-Windows 7 Professional (64)
-Netgear R6250 Router
-Comcast is ISP
-Norton Security Suite 5.2.2.3
-Permanent IP address 192.168.1.50
-Dynamic DNS service from http://Dyn.com/dns/
-Port: 21
I tested connecting to the server with FileZilla client, installed on a Windows 8 laptop.
It tested locally to 192.168.1.50 - Connected
It tested through the ISP, using the address I obtained from http://www.whatismyip.com - Connected
However when I try to test through the DynDNS service from the Windows 8 client, using a hostname of xxxx.is-a-musician.com, it fails. The status log indicates that it resolves to a different IP address (must be the DynDNS ip address; it's not the whatismyip address) and gives the messages Error: Connection timed out / Error: Could not connect to server.
When I visit the Dyn.com/dns site, I test port 21 and it indicates that the port is open.
Is there something special I have to do when using DynDNS with FileZilla?
Thanks for looking at this.

Re: FileZilla Server and Dyn.com
Hello,
I figured it out. At Dyn.com/dns/ I was using their WebHop service. I have a Host service and two WebHop services. When I used the actual Host service, everything worked fine.
I hope this helps out someone else.
