Error: Disconnected from server

#1 Post by seth » 2004-08-14 15:31

Hello,

I'm running FileZilla Server in a Celeron 233MHz with 64MB of RAM. The OS is Windows 2000.
I'm also running TightVNC and Kerio Personal Firewall 2.1.5.
I'm using the server in active mode so that I can control from the firewall point of view which ports are being used (only port 20 and 21 and not a random one like in passive mode).

At the university I use terminal computers that log in to a citrix central server. From these terminals I try to connect to my FTP server. Everytime I do this I get, on the Server side, the message "Error: Disconnected from server". After that I can't even use TightVNC.
When I arrive home and check the computer there is still one user logged in called "(not logged in)". I kick him and then try to restart the server but I'm not able to do so. I try to restart or turn off the PC and I receive warnings saying I don't have the rights to perform those operations.

I really need help on this! Can someone give me a hint?
If I'm not providing enough info, please tell me what I should include in the next post. Thanks!!

Cheers,
Pedro

Without complete server and client logs I won't be able to help much.

My guess is that you have any router or firewall which causes these problems.

Please read the FAQ here in this forum.
