Another router issue

Ok. Ive read many of the router problem threads on this forum and I'm still stuck. I have no idea what I'm doing wrong, but I still can't connect to my ftp. either from an outside source, or from inside my network using my computers ip (192.168.0.100)

I'm using a D-Link router, ive forwarded TCP ports 20 and 21, as well as passive ports 5000-5100. Ive set those in the passive mode settings, and manually typed in my external ip address. No matter how i try, the connection always times out.

I've even DMZ'ed my router, and it still doesnt work.

Help!

Do you have any firewalls installed? Is the built-in XP firewall active?

I do have Norton Firewall but its disabled. I never use the Windows firewall either, it is off.
