It is always feasible. What isn't feasible is running outdated, potentially vulnerable software with known bugs.

In the ideal world, perhaps. More often than not system updates are the long term plan, sometimes people need a quick answer to fix a problem for the short term.

I agree that the true 'FIX' here is to update the application, happy to discuss this further (privately) but I fear the politics are invading the thread, I hope you understand.
