Strange issue next filezilla migration

#1 Post by linuxmc2 » 2018-05-08 06:48

Dear all,
i moved a filezilla 0.9.29 beta installation from a Windows Server 2000 machine to a Windows Server 2012 R2 machine.
To do this i installed the same 0.9.29 beta version on Windows Server 2012 R2, moved configuration files and put files on same path,
The firewall on Windows Server 2012 R2 is disabled and the IP on the new machine is the same of the old one.
All users/devices connect to the new ftp server without problem, except one, for which i see the 425 error.
Ignore the 550 errors.
The same user works without problem on the old server.
Any ideas ?
Thank you.

You have to update to the most recent version of FileZilla Server, old versions are not supported.

Most likely there is a firewall interfering with the connection. Please test your server on https://ftptest.net/

If the test succeeds it's a client-side issue, otherwise a server-side issue.

The test passed but i don't think it's a client side issue. The same client connects correctly to the old Filezilla. If i install the same version of Filezilla on the Windows 2012 R2 machine, i receive this error.
If it's a client issue, i think i should have the same problem with the Windows 2000 machine.

1. Is there a reason you don't use Passive (PASV) mode? Configuring the server correctly for Passive mode is of no use if the client then uses Active mode. Note that in Active (PORT) mode, the client has to configure and forward the data ports. Most probably, this has not been done. Thus: Try Passive mode!

2. Is there any reason to not using FTP over TLS? It is secure, and all firewalls/routers are locked out (due to the end-to-end encryption).
No support requests over PM! You will NOT get any reply!!!
FTP connection problems? Please read Network Configuration.
