FileZilla server disconnect by itself

Hi,

I am running Filezilla server 0.9.050 beta on Windows server 2008 and since a couple days ago I got this weird problem… The program disconnect by itself and the reconnect but when it does, I am not able to reconnect to it anymore. The Filezilla server logo that is showned in the Windows tool bar in the Bottom right won't be as usually and will have a yellow question mark on it.

The only way that I found to fix it temporarily is to reboot the computer but the problem came back after 2-3 days. I am using this program for more than 2 years and everything was working fine.

Can someone help me with it?

Please note that we cannot provide official support as you aren't on the latest version (0.9.60).

As a quick guess, it looks like the server service dies or hangs. MS has put out bad Rollups on Server 2008 /Server 2008 R2 / Windows 7 that affect network services badly. AFAIK, they are currently withdrawn/hidden from WU.

Hi Team,

I have the same issue with new version of filezilla server 0.9.60Beta, it keeps dying every few hours and seat on connecting to server, waiting for authentication, it will only work after i restart windows 2008 R2 server. Please help

What you see in the Systray is not FileZilla Server, it's only the Administration Interface for communicating with the actual server engine.

The true server is installed as a system service. When it dies next time, check if the service is stopped. Also check the Event Viewer for APPCRASH messages regarding "FileZilla Server.exe". Posting them here might give hints to the crashing module.

Hello, i have the same problem and no messages in the event viewer... (server 2008 R2) the service is freezed and the is no way to restart it or stop it (i get a timeout error stopping the service err 1053) so the only way is to restar the server
and then it works for a minutes, then it crash..... any idea? Thanks

Did you install the July Rollup? That one is bad and MS is investigating. Uninstalling restores operation.

unistalled KB4338818 and all works fine now.
