setting up my ftp server

#1 Post by Markus1983 » 2018-07-16 11:54

Hello,

I am little bit confused setting up my server.

Should I set up my server in passive or active mode? I want to share data for short times

My Server is behind a router which I have configured so that the laptop with the port 21 in the network is free reachable.

Should I use ftp over TLS? I created a certificate at my Laptop!

That is not a thing for the server to decide. It is solely a client decision, the server must support both. However, only the Passive mode must be configured at the server side.

Not enough. Please read our Network Configuration Guide (Passive configuration) about Data ports.

Technically, not required. But, security-wise it's a must.
No support requests over PM! You will NOT get any reply!!!
