Hi,

I have had users logging in and uploading files to our sftp for a few months now with no problems. This is a daily occurence. They recently brought to my attention that they are getting errors and can no longer upload files. I have changed nothing on the server since I set it up a few months ago. When I logged in from home, outside of the office network it worked fine for me. I also just tried it using my hot spot from my cell phone and it worked as expected.

Here is what the log shows:

Your users are trying to upload into a non-existing directory. Needless to say, that doesn't work.

FTPS (FTP over TLS). SFTP is the SSH2 transfer subsystem and not supported by FileZilla Server.

Thanks for the reply. How does that explain why it has been working with no problem up until this point? And do I need to configure something specific for this directory? I know it exists because I created it. I set this directory and made it a home directory for this user? Is that the problem?

Thanks for the reply. I have configured FTP over TLS within the server. I guess I misspoke when I said SFTP. Do you have any suggestions on why the directory says it does not exist when I in fact does exist and it was working fine the last few months up until last week? And what about the 'filename invalid' 550 error?

Important: If you indeed made the "Carenow" directory the Home directory for the user, then it is now the root directory. As a rule of thumb, the assigned Home directory becomes the root directory for the user account.

So, your clients need to upload to / (the root).

Uploading to the root directory should be their only option. When one logs in it's the only directory visible and accessible to them.
And why can I log into it with their login and upload, delete, transfer files?

The following is a line from your provided log:
(000046)7/23/2018 4:04:26 AM - carenow (128.136.20.44)> STOR /Carenow/Pr_2018-07-15-2018-07-15.txt
As you see, they try to upload into a subdirectory /Carenow, which, of course, doesn't work. In other words, wrong client configuration.
