I'm having an issue with endless looping transfer...
Hi, I'm new here and this is my first post.
Anyway, I'm trying to FTP an iso file to my PS3 and it seems like it's working at first, but when the transfer gets just past 50%, it starts over. I left it alone once time, to see if it would eventually finish, and after an hour and a half, I gave up. I know that this can work - because I did manage to get a couple games transferred over prior - but not nothing I transfer seems to work. Can someone please help me?
Just a heads up, I'm not super computer savvy, so if I ask about a term or word that I don't understand, please be patient with me. Thanks in advance

Re: I'm having an issue with endless looping transfer...
Are you kidding me?? I haven't done anything wrong! I own a physical copy of the game for PS2, but my console no longer works anymore and since it won't play in my PS3, I modded the console so I can play some of my old PS2 games that I have on disc.
It's pretty narrow-minded to just assume that anyone who is using ROM or ISO files is doing it illegally. Since I own a physical copy, I'm perfectly well within my rights. Besides, WHAT I'm transferring over, however, should be no concern of yours; This forum is simply for help using filezilla and that's all I was posting about, not to be judged unfairly by a stranger
Re: I'm having an issue with endless looping transfer...
PS2 disks are copy protected. By definition of the law this site falls under, this copy protection is effective. By law it is also illegal to circumvent effective copy protection. Hence, you cannot be legal possession of a .iso for a PS2 game.
If there were not copy protection, you'd be allowed by law to make backups of physical disks, but based on the filename you didn't create the backup yourself, you downloaded an illicit copy from a third-party site.

Okay well I didn't know that PS2 ISO files were illegal to have, whether you own the physical copy or not.botg wrote: ↑2018-08-28 20:24PS2 disks are copy protected. I mean, you kind of just came at me as if to assume that I just knew that. I do appreciate you explaining it to me, at the very least...

Sony is especially bad when it comes to Copyright matters. It's Sony, the ones installing Rootkits to users' computers...

Yeah I wasn't aware of that.boco wrote: ↑2018-08-29 02:24Sony is especially bad when it comes to Copyright matters. It's Sony, the ones installing Rootkits to users' computers...
But if that is common knowledge, then what exactly would anyone here expect me to be FTP'ing to my PS3? It would only either be PS1, PS2, or PS3 games, because anything else could be simply transferred over via a thumb drive.
