Passive port range + single port?

#1 Post by GibParadox » 2019-07-18 12:23

Hi, all.

I have an ftp server that had been running on 21/20 even in passive mode (assigned range was 20-20).
I changed the settings to 30000-32000, and all my users adopted the change without issues... all but one.

This one user seems to have a very bureaucratic change control process, and would like me to revert to port 20, but this, of course, would not go down well with the rest of users.

So... is it possible to have a (range + one IP) configuration for passive mode? Any way I can edit the xml settings file to do this?

Any ideas welcome :)

As you can only specify a min and max port in the XML, probably not.

Your user is in error. Since the PASV port is server-controlled, the client cannot make any assumption on which port is used, it must simply accept and allow each and every port the server deems to be fit.
