Response: 530 Authentication failed. Error: Critical error: Could not connect to server

Good evening,

I currently have a Dedicated server in which I have installed FTP Server onto so i can use FTP access from my main pc to the dedicated server. I installed the FTP server side on the server installed as a service etc etc, added the 2 ports to the firewall on both outgoings and incomings, create a user, assigned the directory and made a very very basic login username and password. I input all the right ip's and ports and then i get this error

Response: 530 Authentication failed.
Error: Critical error: Could not connect to the server

Do you have any ideas on how I can remedy this error or is there something I have missed in my setup stages?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Jacobob

1. Make sure you do connect to FileZilla Server. Dedicated Windows Servers often enable Microsoft's IIS FTP server, which blocks the ports FileZilla Server would need to use.

2. Adding only two ports will not give you a working FTP server. Please read Network Configuration for all that is required.
