Please update to a more modern client. ftp.exe hasn't been updated in over 25 years.

ftp.exe uses obsolete, non-standard commands that aren't part of RFC 959. FileZilla Server will work perfectly with any modern client that implements the FTP standard.

i know it, but now i have an old widows server using an iis ftp and i have about 100 external users with its own space to receive our data placed in their dirs
so in want to replace server with a new one and filezilla server
but if someone of external users have automated some download using ftp.exe this will be a problem after migrating

"quote PWD" will still work.

But for the normal pwd command, ftp.exe sends XPWD, which FileZilla Server doesn't understand.

@botg: @oibaf: Simply define the X??? commands as alias to their non-X counterparts. Despite not being official FTP commands, you would simply break too many legacy scripts. And third-party software is not allowed on all devices. Don't punish the users/admins for MS' incompetence.
