Problem upgrading from 0.96 to 1.1

Hi all

first post here, so i guess i'm a noob

Been using 0.96 for donkey years - yes i know i'm slack, should have upgraded ages ago.

But when i did upgrade (to 1.10) it stopped working - no one could access from outside my network. I have had port forwarding and everything set up and working for years. I checked and the 1.1 installer kept the original settings, so it should have worked - but doesnt.

So i uninstalled 1.1 and put 0.96 back in, and it worked straight away.

I'm not sure where to start troubleshooting, or how - any tips anyone could provide would be most appreciated

Thanks heaps

A version 0.96 never existed. But if you mean 0.9.60, well, that was indeed the latest version until about July 2021.

Next, the jump from 0.9.60 to 1.10 is not an upgrade, but a migration. The server has been completely rewritten from scratch, it bears almost no resemblance to the old one (which was unchanged from 2017).

As such, there are a lot of things that are different now. All executables and config files changed, the server is now 64bit, and a plethora of other things. That means, you need to redo at least all firewall rules on the server machine.

I came across the same problem (upgrading 0.9.60 to 1.0.1) and after redoing the firewall rules on the server side, connecting to the FTP server was possible again.
However nobody connecting via WAN was able to see the folder content. There was every time an error message. Tried active as well as passive (0.9.60 is running passive for years). NAT settings in the router should be OK since it works with 0.9.60 on the same target machine (hence same local IP and ports range)

Looking to find some specific details before upgrading to 1.1.0.
