GnuTLS error -15: An unexpected TLS packet was received.

Hello,
I am getting the following error on the client when trying to connect to my filezilla ftp server:

Status: Connecting to 33.188.24.127:990...
Status: Connection established, initializing TLS...
Error: GnuTLS error -15: An unexpected TLS packet was received.
Status: Connection attempt failed with "ECONNABORTED - Connection aborted".
Error: Could not connect to server

wondering if anyone encountered this and maybe there is a fix...
p.s. I changed the ip's in the log for security reasons.

Please check your server listeners in the settings. Make sure that the listeners on port 990 are set to "Implicit FTP over TLS (deprecated)".

Hi boco,
I use FileZilla Server 0.9.60 beta and I have another server with similar version and settings which I can connect fine.

The old server is EOL and unsupported.

Make sure you are using the FTP over TLS (Implicit) setting in your client.
Also make sure you are not using port 990 as standard listening port in the server (it should appear only on the SSL/TLS page, not elsewhere). The one in General settings must be different (21 by default) or cleared.

Recommendation is using FTP over TLS Explicit, as Implicit is deprecated (was never an approved FTP standard anyway).

Oh, yes, upgrade the server to 1.3.0 or higher.
No support requests over PM! You will NOT get any reply!!!
