ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by Server

#1 Post by bheslop » 2022-06-07 05:01

Hi,
Trying to connect to FileZilla Server with FileZilla Client. Have the most current versions. Have a Sonicwall SOHO and all the settings seem to be good. Here are screen shots of the Server and Client side showing the errors.
I have also turned the server side Firewall completely off. As you can see they are talking but just cant complete the process.

Thanks, Brad

Hello, Mr.Heslop.

How about testing at the following site?

https://ftptest.net/

Also,Is there a proxy server on the connection root?
If so, for example, is it the same result if you set to ignore the proxy in the advanced tab of FileZilla Client?

Firewall on the server machine? Ports opened, including all data ports?

No Proxy Server and Ports are open. From the screen shots there is a connection response on the server side.

Sorry, left out that the FileZilla logs on the server show a successful login. Then all of a sudden the log says - Session 1 ended gracefully.

On the test, the port proposed by the server is 57856. Is that port correctly forwarded and unblocked (error message says no, blocked). Is it inside the defined range?

Please make sure it is set like an attachment on Windows and FileZilla Server
Also, you need to open the same TCP port and TCP port range on the router as the attached file .
Also, please enter the Global IP address etc. given to your router in the "use the following host" part of Passive mode tab of FileZilla Server .

By the way ,the passive mode range of the attachment file is an example of opening the maximum range.
Please change it if necessary.

Changed Public IP address and I am getting farther along. The FTP tester is now logging in ok but when it goes to retrieve the Directory it times out. Have a Sonicwall SOHO.

Thank you for reply.
Thank you ,Mr.Heslop.

Have you checked "Passive" at Transfer Settings of FileZilla Client?

Also, I think you may find the following video to be helpful about setting up the Sonicwall.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p1T-iAblitw&t=92s

Also, in the "Service Object" setting in the "Firewall" section of the Sonicwall, please set as follows and please make sure whether it will work correctly or not.

First step: Please check "FTP(All)" checkbox.

Second step :Please click "add" button to open a single port for implicit mode and set "990" to "990" as a range (please select "TCP" as protocol.).

Third step: Please click "add" button again to open passive mode and set for example, "49152" to "65534" as a port range (please select "TCP" as protocol.)

Please forgive me if you have set as mentioned above already.

Thank you for reply.
Thank you ,Mr.Heslop.
I think the remaining check points are whether the port setting of the security software on the serveer is open or the provider is not blocking the port.
It's also a good idea to check if you can connect from a client on the same network as the server.
