Use multiple users each with separate upload directories. That way one user cannot touch the files of a different user.

This appears to be a case where there are differing opinions. There are certain situations where disabling the ability to delete files has definite benefits:

• Where many (perhaps hundreds) of accounts have to upload files on a regular basis, but should be able to delete only their own files. Having all the files in one directory simplifies the process of collecting and processing them.
• Where the FTP server is used to backup information and deletion is not desirable

The bottom line is that the current FileZilla server does not support separate write and delete ability.

I still hope this feature (option) will return one day.
