running as local service instead of system

Hello,

I changed filezilla-server.exe to run as local service and not system.
I was not able to do that using FileZilla Administration interface as it gives me 2 options: system or user with password.
So I used Windows Services .msc making changes on Filezilla-server logOn tab.

Is that OK ?

Thank you in advance!

I don't recommend manually changing the service configuration.

The correct way to have the FileZilla Server service run under a particular Windows account is to run the installer and select the corresponding option during setup.

The setting you configure in the administration interface is not for the account the server service runs under, it is for which account to use for filesystem access for files served over FTP, unless the respective FTP user has impersonation enabled itself.

I see.
The only problem is that during installation it gives 2 option : 1. run as system 2. user with password.
Real Windows user that needs own folder under C:\Users and own registry hive, rights to run as a service, etc..
No option to select ready to go "local service". Unless I missed something.

Anyway all seems working fine.
Thank you for the reply and your work!

Oh I see. If I'm not mistaken you can just use "Local Service" as username and enter any bogus password you want.

If that doesn't work, we have to investigate further.
