Filezilla Server 1.6.7 to Pro Enterprise 1.6.7

#1 Post by steveb » 2023-04-05 12:55

Hi, i'm running filezilla server 1.6.7 for FTPS on a server, I have just purchased pro enterprise as I need to also allow an SFTP connection option for a few specific customers.

Can I just install pro enterprise over the top of filezilla server in the same directory like when doing a version upgrade for filezilla server? Will it keep all settings/users/the ftps option but upgrade to enterprise allowing me to then add an SFTP connector and use pro enterprise features?

or do I need to install it in a new enterprise pro directory and migrate the settings over somehow from filezilla server?

Thanks!

To be on the safe side, export your configuration first (menu Server). Then, you can just install Pro Enterprise on top of the old server. Finally, add the SFTP listener(s) in the Server listeners screen, if not being already there (0.0.0.0:22 and possibly [::]:22).

The installer will ask to do a backup of the configuration when moving from the free version to the enterprise version, and it will tell you where those files have been backed up to.

As Boco said, you can also export the configuration to be re-imported later, should things go wrong.

In general, things should just work out smoothly.

Please note that if you are successful, you'll need to move forums. Your home for new questions will then be here: https://customerforum.filezilla-project.org/ - Pro users have their own place.
