Server 1.7.2 and StorageCraft ImageManager

#1 Post by aftech » 2023-07-19 16:26

We've been using FileZilla and Imagemanger successfully for many years to transfer data from one site to another using FTPS. We recently rebuilt the host and now with FileZilla 1.7.2 we can't seem to establish a connection with TLS 1.2 or 1.3. We experience 425 errors and TLS session of data connection not resumed errors. When I remove the SSL requirement from the client end, the transfers work fine. Nothing has been changed in the firewall in terms or ports and services on the ACL or NATs. The firewall logs show the traffic is passing to the FileZilla server as expected. I am looking for some troubleshooting assistance with this. Thanks.

FileZilla Server 1.x has a mandatory requirement for TLS, in that the client has to support TLS session resumption. Probably your older host did run an old Filezilla Server 0.x instance, where this requirement was optional.

I've opened a support case with StorageCraft to inquire about compliance with TLS session resumption support. Thanks.

Upgrading ImageManager to 7.8.2 fixes the issues I inquired about.
