Hi
I have had filezilla running for years on my VPS. I did not use filezilla for a long time (covid) and when I tried recently it was not connecting. No idea why this happened.
Running Windows Server 2016
I cannot get the Admin Console or remote client to connect
I uninstalled the original Filezilla I had then installed FileZilla_1.7.2.
Still would not connect so I uninstalled it and then installed FileZilla_1.8.0-rec1_win64 but still can't get the Admin Console to connect.
Error: Failed connection to server 127.0.0.1:22. Reason ECONNREFUSED - Connection refused by server
Log shows: Control channel closed with error from source 1. Reason: EINVAL
I have tried ports 21 and 22 because 1 of the rules in the firewall is set to 21 and won't let me change it - see below. Neither worked
Not sure if this has anything to do with the issue but throwing it out there just in case:
Services app shows that filezilla-server is running but there is another service shown as FileZilla Server FTP server that is also listed but is not running. When I try to start it the dialog says the file "C:\Program Files (x86)\FileZilla Server\FileZilla Server.exe" does not exist.
Windows Firewall Inbound
Filezilla Server FTP Port: 14148
Filezilla Server UDP Port: 14148
FTP Server (FTP Traffic In) Port: 21 - I am unable to change this
FTPES Port: tried both 21 and 22
Filezilla Server Ports: Any
Filezilla Server Ports: Any (this appears 2x)
FTP Server Passive (FTP Passive Traffic-In) Ports: 1024 - 65535
FTP Server Secure (FTP SSL Traffic-In) Port: 990
Windows Firewall Outbound
FTP Server (FTP Traffic-Out) Ports: All
FTP Server Secure (FTP SSL Traffic-Out) Ports: All
Any help would be appreciated

Re: Admin Console won't connect to Filezilla Server
FileZilla Server does not use UDP, don't forward UDP. Port 22 is reserved for SFTP, which is not spoken by FileZilla Server, so don't forward it either.
In order to be able to remotely administrate FileZilla Server, you need to have both an admin password set, and bound the admin listener to at least one additional IP address. If either condition isn't met, it's only possible to administrate FileZilla Server through localhost.

That appears to be a leftover of the old 0.9.x, looks like it didn't get uninstalled properly. Try manually deleting the service in the registry, or ignore it, its presence does nothing.there is another service shown as FileZilla Server FTP server that is also listed but is not running. Re: Admin Console won't connect to Filezilla Server
Thanks
I am only using LocalHost for the Admin - is the Admin Password still needed or recommended?

Re: Admin Console won't connect to Filezilla Server
What happened on Oct 12 to no longer connect to server. It was fine the day before.
Was it the update?
