Proper way to upgrade from Server 0.9.60

#1 Post by RKen1121 » 2023-10-23 14:43

Hey All,

I was handed an environment that a prior admin setup a filezilla server client on, and its runnning 0.9.60. Appears to be a BETA version, from 2017. Going to the about server section, doesn't have a way to update within the console. I assume this is manual process, due to the age of the client version.

I do not see a way to back this server up, but I'd like to upgrade for two reason

1) its old, and probably should for many various reasons
2) A user is getting a SSl/TLS error when connecting with a specific program, and I'm wondering if its a security issue, logs don't tell me much, but i'd definitely like to start here.

How do I back this server up, so I don't lose the settings already configured, and the user settings. What is the proper way to upgrade from this version, to the latest.

Thanks!

For the old Server software, backing up "FileZilla Server.xml" from its Program Files (x86) subdirectory is enough.

Simply installing the new 1.7.3 Server should migrate all data over.
