SFTP from Client to Server Pro 1.7.3

#1 Post by vmsFTP » 2023-11-09 17:59

We have a customer who is using a cipher on their computer system to create an SFTP connection to our Server Pro 1.7.3 Server and it is failing. We have created a user account and password for them with an outside IP address they can use. They are using a server and client cipher type of: hmac-sha2-256-etm@openssh.com which has aes-128-ctr.

I had requested a Public key from him to attach to their user account via the Public Key Tab, but they are telling me they do business with lots of other places and have never provided a Public Key.

Is there another way to configure the server to accept an incoming SSH connection from them?

Under Protocol setting and SSH on our server, we have a generated host key file.

Other users from outside are able to reach our server via SSH with a username and password combination.

Please note that our customer support forums are located at https://customerforum.filezilla-project.org/

Please provide information about the used client software (product and version) and post a complete log of a connection attempt, ideally a matching log from both the client and the server in the customer support forums.
