Compatible FTPS android client

#1 Post by isildur » 2023-12-14 20:08

Does anybody know android ftp client which is compatible with current Filezilla Server using explicit over tls?

So far I onpy succeded with ftp plugin in total commander. Tested many other but no success.

Preferably I would love to use MixPlorer because this is my best file manager but cant make it to work.

I also tested many Android managers and only one works properly.

Can we ask developers to give as option to disable SSL session resumption requirement? Just a small tick button would be nice, nothing fancy.

No, doing so would compromise security. Just use a client that supports session resumption, nothing fancy.

What about adding enormously huge warning-danger triangle with exclamation mark saying something like "Danger! This will compromise security, use at own risk!"? Just saying.

If you don't care about security, you can always use insecure plain FTP.

Of course I care about security. But it doesnt have to be either 100% secure or 0% secure. It can be balanced depenging on features required, hence sacrifice some security to be, for example 90% secure. Still better than 0%. Just trying to be as secure as possible without any drawbacks. Having a choice and being warned about potential risks is always a great user experience. Just sayin.

No, such a setting would compromise security with connecting clients that do care about security.
