Can not download any files via IE7

#1 Post by bilbus » 2008-07-31 20:50

I can not seem to download anything off my ftp site with IE7. IE6 works fine

i get the IE popup asking for a username and password. After i type in the password and try to download the file i get "The login request was denied"

I can do the same thing in IE6 and have no problem.

Anyone know whats wrong?

I am running filezilla ftp server 0.9.25 beta
Thanks

First, update to 0.9.27.

Please post logs from both a successful and failing connection attempt. Debug level 3 please.

Sorry. Forget my last post.

So you updated to 0.9.27 and FTP failed to work? While connections are made to your server, FZ Server displays a log in the admin console.

1. Does it display anything at all if you try to connect with IE7?
2. If yes, post the log here.
3. Try connecting with Filezilla Client in both Active and Passive mode. Does that work?

If it doesn't display a log (no reaction) a firewall could be blocking because the executable has changed.

I'm getting this. What I'm getting in the filezilla log is an anonymous log in try, and because we have the anonymous access blocked, it gives the "login access was denied" message...

I know this is maybe a IE7 support thing, but some people we are sharing the files with, are gonna get this error trying to download the files and then because we are gonna get troubles, maybe we are gonna change for another solution instead filezilla. That's the reason I ask for a solution here.

Thx for ur time...

1. Type in the ftp address press Enter. (Should bring you to some crap made up page... like you said: "it gives the "login access was denied" message...")
2. Look at your browser for the "Page" drop down menu (next to tools top right unless you moved stuff around)
3. Select "Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer". (wait for the new window to come up)
4. Click File (Top left of the new window)
5. Select "Login As".
6. Input information needed.
7. Click Ok
8. If login not successful repeat steps 5 to 7 until success.
