http server proxy settings in filezilla

#1 Post by ubuntuv » 2012-03-16 22:17

hi,

I usually browse internet through a http proxy, like 10.0.0.2 and port 1234. In web browser, I make this settings and it works. Can someone tell me the settings that needs to be done in Filezilla, so that I can browse ftp sites also.

thanks in advance.
uv.

Go to the Generic proxy tab in the settings, select HTTP/1.1 and enter the proxy details. The proxy you use must support HTTP/1.1 and the CONNECT method to work with FileZilla.

If it did work for you, great. Bu if it did not work for you, then note the very same method only works for the same proxy type. So if yours is not an HTTP proxy, or it doesn't support HTTP 1.1 and/or CONNECT, then you're SOL. If you use a SOCKS5 proxy set the correct type (SOCKS4a not supported).

Note that pure FTP proxies are set on a different settings page.
