Mobile version of website - does it work?

I'm a Dutch writer and I've just made a new website. I've tried to make an automatic forwarding code for people watching it with their cell phones. Now I don't have a smartphone, so I'm not able to check whether it works. The three things I'd like to know:

* does the website automatically forward you to the smartphone version, using a smartphone?
* are the texts readable (too big? too small?) without having to zoom the screen?
* does the lay-out look clear?
