I am using FileZilla in conjunction with WordPress to manage my website. In an attempt to enable traffic to find my URL by typing either http://www.example.com OR just example marketing into the address bar, (messing with settings in WordPress) I managed to completely lose access to both my website and to WordPress.
A short panic ensued.
I found a great blog online that advised I add the following copy to my wp-config.php file:
define ('WP_SITEURL', 'http://www.example.com');
define ('WP_HOME', 'http://www.example.com');
This worked and I regained access to Wordpress and my site... all except for the Homepage, which is returning an HTTP 500 error
The funny thing is, that the whole world - even other people in the office - can see the home page, it's just I that can't, so the problem is definitely at my end.
(Other advice I have read says to look for WP-option.php file and see if there's an error there, but I don't have this file.)
There's probably a quick and easy answer to this issue, but I've spent a whole day on it yesterday and most of today, so now I need some help
