We have used Filezilla for a number of years now for our client sites, but currently we're using a old version of the software.
We need to download and upgrade it to the latest version, but have yet to do so as we are wondering if all the client ftp accounts we have set up in our current version will be lost?
eg. We don't to have to create them all again.
So, can someone advise if we are ok to download the latest release, install it etc. and at the same time we retain all the site profiles we have currently set up....
Thanks for your time

Re: Filezilla latest release upgrade question
Both the server and the client are designed to not remove any settings when updating. However, making a backup of the settings is recommended.
1. In case the old version is a FileZilla 2.x client, read https://wiki.filezilla-project.org/Fz2_to_3_convert. Note that still running FileZilla 2 in 2013 is dangerous.
2. For a FileZilla 3.x client, backup %APPDATA%\FileZilla (Win) or ~/.filezilla (other OS).
3. FileZilla Server: Backup "FileZilla Server.xml" inside the server's Program Files directory.

Re: Filezilla latest release upgrade question
Thanks for the reply - We're using version 3.2.4.1 so we'll make the backup suggested and download the new version of the software thereafter.
