ICONS FOR FILEZILLA 3.0
Hello,
I did'nt see this topic before creating these icons, so sorry:
http://graphys.online.fr/index_en.php
A preview:
The copyright is to prevent from "robbing" my work
but if you want to use it for FileZilla 3.0
(and if Fz 3.0 is always a Freeware )
there is no problem!
(Sorry for my sentences, I'm not english )

So the story goes...
I wanted to create a new icon for FileZilla, something exceptional. Retain the basic FZ concept. Add the Mozilla, "Zilla" flavor, and depict the function of FileZilla.
So I came up with an interesting concept... Thanks to God.
A few sketches later and I confirmed I liked it.
Months later...
I'm in bed in the middle of the night, tired but can't sleep. A creative urge propped me up and onto the computer where I worked on the icon for hours.
Heres what I came up with...
I may work on the Files forming the tail ridge plates, possibly making them larger, and adjusting their positions.
Various backgrounds could be made for this. I rather like the whole idea quite a lot.
I can tweak, change, and make them into .ico if the authors of FileZilla want to use them.

Interesting idea. Though I'm afraid this might provoke some copyright issues. Japanese monsters are quite possessive
How does it look as 16x16 icon? (Needed for title bar, startmenu icon, taskbar icon, systray icon)

These conditions are not GPL compatible.sparrowhawk wrote:All artwork in this post is Copyright © Michael Picagli

:] Heh, possessive is right! I suppose the conditions I posted can be changed to be GPL compatible, so no worries there.
16x16 isn't the most graphically beautifying size so with respect to the icon, the Files forming the tail plates will be non existent. But the icon itself remains well displayed.
Each icon size is hand worked and not just resized.

FileZilla logo suggestion...
Hi,
Tried to make a suggestion for an new FileZilla logo & icon. It builds upon the existing FileZilla logo concept... I tried to make it more distinct. At the moment, it is a working sketch, open for your suggestions and anger (hopefully there will be some of both )
here is a pdf with a short introduction to logotype and icon:

and here is zipped ico file: http://free-zg.t-com.hr/alexkovac/filez ... ezilla.zip
thnx

@alexkovac:
I like your suggestion very much. I'm a big fan of simplicity when it comes to logos. Especially fond of the logo the way it is presented in the PDF together with "FileZilla".
Only thing this logo is missing is a connection to file transfer, but I don't see a problem with that.
Keep up the good work!

Thank you very much for your kind replies!
Yes, it is also my belief that logos and signs should be carriers of a simple yet clear 'communication', thus providing easy recognition and identification.
...
Concerning the file transfer connection, i must admit, it is not adequately apparent. I tried to use analogy of a post stamp to convey this . FZ post stamp should say something like: sent/received via FileZilla.
...
I have 'suggestion' to improve this (will post soon). Maybe it will improve things (or make them worse) who knows..
