That is surely annoying i think it's not the google that is enabling it, it is the people who use their services but lately you have to authorize your gmail account with an SMS or Phone Call so Less Spam from now on.

Gmail is the service that usually use the spammers. Many websites not allowing to use a gmail for registrations.

I think you didn't get the point: Annoying is the mass registration of GMail account for the single purpose of spamming. The double authentication might lead to less spam and eventually to a relaxation of the ban, although I'm not the one to decide that.
