FileZilla won't retrieve directories

#1 Post by leroyvanhee@frontier.com » 2015-01-30 00:20

FileZilla connects with my server but process won't read directories. I can read directories with internet browser but not filezilla. I have the latest version and everything worked with old version.

Please post a log of the connection.

I am also experiencing trouble with filezilla - with several of the sites I administer.
This is the message: "The servers certificate is unknown. Please examine the certificate to make sure the serve can be trusted." This only happened when someone downloaded filezilla for the first time and when I installed the latest update.

Either the server does not support TLS or a firewall is messing with the connection.

I tried disabling my windows firewall, no joy. Since I can view the directories using my Google Chrome browser doesn't that eliminate the server issue (or is that port specific)?

There may be something worth researching with regard to this matter. I'm having the exact issue as other posters in this thread and this only occurred with the latest release.

In reviewing other recent threads, the suggestion has been to correct the firewall configuration on the server, but not everyone has direct access to their servers to make whatever necessary corrections are needed and this was not an issue with previous versions of the Client. Something changed in FileZilla Client that now inhibits, however correctly, the ability to retrieve directories despite firewall configurations.

What other options are available for those of us who are unable to make direct changes to the server?

edit: Something else I think is worth noting is that with subsequent reconnection attempts, I am eventually able to retrieve the directory listing, but after navigating more than one subset of folders, I receive an error again.

edit 2: After reading through this entire thread, the only "resolution" seems to downgrade to Client 3.9.0.6 or individually force Plain FTP on each site through the Site Manager if updating the server is an unavailable option.

Can you list the steps to downgrade to the previous version?

I believe it is definitely something to do with the latest upgrade, as 3 of our users' computers received the upgrade and was then unable to connect.
I was able to connect until the upgrade happened.

Thank you.

Was able to upload files.

I'm sure the oldapps site is fine, but I prefer to download directly from the project page on SourceForge:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/filezil ... t/3.9.0.6/

Just download and double click the executable and it will automatically downgrade with all your settings.
