You don't need the server. The server is only for hosting files on your PC for others to retrieve/send.

1. That is great, I manage very many websites, but under your tutorial I couldn't make some connections even for one website
I only did Network setup disk for home small office net working, but no further steps..... I am quite new about it

Where are some tutorials about it ?

2. Another important question: if I will keep one website on my local FilleZilla server for instance for my son, does my computer should be all time to be connected to the Internet?

and Is this possible for Joomla CMS? or only for HTML website?

1. FileZilla Server is an FTP server. You can't host webpages with it. For this you'd need an HTTP server like Apache (http://httpd.apache.org).

How to use FileZilla: Using, most important tutorial for the server is Network Configuration.

2. Of course it must be switched on. If a machine is not on the resources aren't available for obvious reasons. This is the reason large data centers exist for running servers 24/7.
For serving pages in LAN you don't need an Internet connection.

Thanks for useful links.

Just one question. For a while until I don't host pages on my machine and still have installed FileZilla server is it possible to configure it that it didn't open every time when I switch on computer? I don't find...

P.S. Some time ago I tried to install Xamp with Apache but unsuccessfully...

is it possible to configure it that it didn't open every time when I switch on computer?
Re-run the installer, set the service to Manual and then untick the admin interface.

So basically the FileZilla Server enables me to transfer files from two or more computers in the privacy of my own server? Is that all it does? How about the FileZilla Client?

FileZilla Server allows you to host files on the system it is installed on. For doing actual file transfers (no matter what server being used), you need the Client, too.

The server alone cannot actively do transfers, by itself. That's how FTP works.

Okay. And the system would be a web host? What system do I need to install FiliZilla Server and FileZilla Client on?

You only need FileZilla Server if you want to host on your own PC (or any Windows system you control - legally ofc.).

With remote hosting, the FTP server is already provided by the hosting company. You then only need the Client.

By remote hosting, do you mean web hosting? I am just trying to install the Wordpress CMS, so that I'm able to publish, delete and archive content on my newspaper website.

Yep, with a web hosting provider you do not need to install the Server.

Thanks for your replies.
I installed an economy GoDaddy web hosting plan yesterday. However, the salesperson explained that I'll need a deluxe plan if I will coding my own website separate from Wordpress. He said that coding outside of Wordpress means that I'll be hosting two websites, even though it's only one website.

I have to be careful with salesperson while I'm still learning. I wasn't sure if he was trying to sell me into something or to just genuinely guide me in the right direction.
