Compress images for the website

From my work as a surveyor I want to ask a lot of construction pictures into the net and give tips and advice to do so.
Since the loading time of a website page is crucial whether someone stays on the page or the same closes the page, the compression of an image is very important. The size of the picture should be well below 10 KB and still have a good quality.

Is there a software with which you can quickly compress an image to upload to the Internet?

My images appear on the original size 2-6 MB. Does anyone here have an idea?

The solution is simple, use text to convey your message. If you cannot convey it using text then you have no message to begin with.
