FileZilla connection error message

#1 Post by thatsoice » 2016-03-01 23:47

I'm running Windows 10 64 bit
My server is running CentOS 6.5 64 bit

Hello, FileZilla was working up until a few months ago I'm sure I updated FileZilla and from there and on I started receiving "Received unexpected end-of-file from SFTP server"

Image

It is very annoying and has forced my to use programs like WinSCP when I would rather be using FileZilla.

Please set the debug level to 3 on the debug page of the settings dialog and try to connect to the server. Please post the complete resulting log in textual form.

Either your server's SFTP subsystem isn't enabled or it is otherwise non-functional. Check the server configuration.

I am having the same problem.

WinSCP logs via sftp with the same credentials fine.

If you google the net for "received unexpected end-of-file from SFTP server", you will see that this is filezilla specific problem and not server issue. If you believe it is server issue, please advice specifically which settings to change, as, admins will fairly refer that everything is fine since another sftp client logs in without any problem.

FileZilla uses an adapted PuTTY component for its SFTP support. Does using PuTTY's psftp.exe tool exhibit the same problem?

You're using a very outdated version of CentOS on the server. Please update to the most recent version of your operating system. Does the problem persist?

@botg: recons is not the OP of the topic, just a topic hijacker. There is no information about the server make and OS, yet.

But he said he has the same problem. That implies the same operating system.

has NOTHING to do with outdated OS, also has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do for only CentOS, Ubuntu has the same issues because im using 16.04, and can RE CREATE the same issues with 18.04.

I dont have these issues with using other ftp programs, It just happends that filezilla is an popular yet neglected program that has ALL KINDS OF BUGS. Yet the staff always claim its server related.

STUPID. Wish they would take serious considerations when MORE than one person says the same thing and can get by just find using another ftp program.

LAZY. Flipping the bill on the end user claiming its server related instead of actually diagnosing an issue.

The issue has already been diagnosed, it's a server issue.
