Trying to connect to a server via sftp and getting this error:
Status: Waiting to retry...
Status: Connecting to XXXXX...
Response: fzSftp started, protocol_version=8
Command: keyfile "XXXXX"
Command: open "XXXXX" 22
Error: Connection timed out after 20 seconds of inactivity
Error: Could not connect to server
XXXXX -denotes personal identifiable info.
I am using the same credentials on another machine, but filezilla was already preset there by someone else. The other machine has a different IP address and configs. But i made sure to request that both my new machine and older one's IP's were allowed to access the specified ftp server.
I double checked all the settings across both filezilla's but cant seem to figure out the reason. Any advice is much appreciated.

Perhaps a firewall is blocking FileZilla?

No, i spoke with system administrator and they checked everything. Nothing (i.e. firewall) is blocking filezilla.botg wrote:Perhaps a firewall is blocking FileZilla?
Any other recommendations on how i can possibly remedy it?

Hello,
did you find a solution to this problem.
I encounter exactly the same one.
My server is a managed server by 1&1
The version of SSH is:
OpenSSH_6.7p1 Debian-5+deb8u1~ui80+7, OpenSSL 1.0.1t 3 May 2016
The 1&1 Server administrator is able to connect to the server with the same FileZilla version as mine (3.30.0)
I found 2 Rules in Windows Defender concerning FileZilla.
I desactivated both and reboot but no success.
I can connect the server with WinSCP and with Putty
Any help?
Thank you in advance
Marc

Hello! I have got same problem, but the real case was in the locale of linux server I tryed connected. It was set on LANG=anything other than UTF8
Try to check ur locale status and change it to the default at first.
