Why is file date on the server not last edit?

#1 Post by MarkAurelius » 2018-07-18 23:16

Hi

I would like the date-time stamp of the files I upload to my website to be the time they were last edited. Some times there is a long delay between editing the files and uploading them, and I show the last edited time on each page. But on the server the time shown is when FIleZilla uploaded it.

I looked around for an option to preserve the date from my development machine when uploading, but without success.

Can anyone help?

It's in menu Transfer (Preserve timestamps of transferred files). Please note that setting timestamps of uploaded files requires the FTP server software to support the MFMT command.
