Down/uploading HTML with Filezilla
Is it possible to download using Filezilla the source code (HTML) for editing and after that upload it back?
Re: Down/uploading HTML with Filezilla
FileZilla can transfer any type of files, HTML files included. As long as the files are reachable over FTP(S) or SFTP (FileZilla Pro supports even more ways) and you have sufficient rights, the answer is Yes.

Re: Down/uploading HTML with Filezilla
Thank you for your response and please forgive me my ignorance.
I have a website that I created using Microsoft Frontpage many years ago. Until now I didn't have any problems with editing it using the Frontpage and Filezilla on my old computer. With time everything on my old computer became obsolete so recently I had to buy a new one. I don't have Frontpage on my new computer. When I download my files now they just come as Web pages with only viewing access to HTML.
Could you enlighten me what to do?

FileZilla can only transfer files.
For editing HTML, you need different software. As HTML is only text, even a text editor would do. There are also HTML editors with syntax highlighting, and even some WYSIWYG (graphical) ones. I don't use any, thus, no recommendations.
Frontpage is EOL (End Of Life) for a long time now.

Re: Down/uploading HTML with Filezilla
Thanks for answering. However, my problem is not with editing HTML per se. The problem is that I don't have the direct editing access to the source code in the downloaded file. Am I missing something?
Re: Down/uploading HTML with Filezilla
OK, I found out that I can edit HTML directly at my host, without downloading/uploading the files to my computer.
Re: Down/uploading HTML with Filezilla
The saved project files some editors produce are of no use. For editing, the actual HTML structure is needed (usually created by those editors when using the "Publish" feature, also corrects the links).
Last advice, make local backups of the remote code. Even the best hoster cannot guarantee an absolute 0.00% chance of data loss.
